Fashion Forward

Hey everyone! This weekend I volunteered at a big fashion show! The exciting thing about this fashion show was it benefited a charity that stands for a great cause: Working Wardrobes! Working Wardrobes is a organization that provides business clothing to men, women, and young adults overcoming difficult challenges so they can confidently enter the workforce and achieve self-sufficiency. However, they don't stop there. They provide career training and job placement assistance as well to ensure these people have all the means necessary to successfully create a future.
One of the most exciting part of the fashion show was all the celebrities that attended! It is great to see so many people that support a great charity cause. The location was beautiful, and there were events going on throughout the entire day. There was a vendor boutique, fashion seminars, and three major fashion shows.
As a volunteer there were many things for us to do. We could work registration, give tours of the venue, or be a dresser for the fashion show. I tried to make the most of my volunteer time and worked in all three areas! My favorite part was being a dresser for the fashion show. Each one of the dressers had their own model who we had to quick change during the fashion show! My girl had 5 outfits, so we had to work extremely fast! It was crazy and hectic, but a great experience. It was awesome to see the outfits on the runway and know you helped make that possible. It was a fantastic event and I am so fortunate to have been a part of it!

Strutin' for Charity!

Hey everyone! This weekend was very exciting as I was in a fashion show! I walked the runway with 22 other 11th grade girls from neighboring high schools. We are all involved with a program called National Charity League that hosts this fashion show every year to raise money for 18 different charities. We raise about 30 thousand dollars to donate to the charities. Its an incredible experience, and its even better knowing we are doing it for a great cause. There were even 9 high school junior boys in it as well who brought some spunk to the show!

In addition to this show, we do lots of community service for these 18 charities throughout the year. This includes delivering meals to senior citizens, helping teach children with disabilities, and serving meals to homeless families. Although it's a lot of hard work, each experience is worth it knowing the good I am doing for the community.

Would you ever want to be in a fashion show? What community service do you do for your community? Let me know in the comments!

First Day of School

Hey Everyone! So today was my first day of school! It was very hectic, but also exciting! My schedule of classes consists of English, Spanish, Physics, Calculus, United States History, Model United Nations, and Tennis. I am in the Advance Placement program at my school, so all my classes go a little faster and are a little harder than the normal class. I also moved everything into my locker today, and its  a bottom locker! Having to scrunch down every day to reach it is no easy task. At the end of the day, we change for our sports and go straight to practice or games. This makes for a long day, especially in hot weather! It was over 100 degrees at school today. This weather makes me want to go to the beach or go swimming, but instead I'm back in school.
First day of school!

Holding all my stuff before
school! Luckily we have lockers
to put everything into.
It was great to see all my friends at school, but I am not looking forward to leaving summer behind!
What was your favorite summer memory? And what's a good outfit to wear in any weather, hot or cold? And if you wear a uniform, how do you spice up your uniform to let your individual style show? Let me know in the comments!

Back to School Shopping - Cali Style

Hey everyone! I don't know about you, but my favorite part of back to school is shopping. I love picking and planning clothes for the upcoming school year! Here in California, the style is very laid back, but with a sophisticated edge. This means tight skirts and baggy shirts for girls and solid shorts with baseball caps for guys. The best place to shop near my house is the Mission Viejo Mall. Inside this huge building are different stores to buy everything imaginable! Some of my favorite stores are Forever 21, Hollister, H&M, and Nordstrom. What are your favorite stores for back to school shopping? Let me know in the comments!

Here are some great back to school outfit options for the ladies if you want to add a little California flare to your outfit. With the tan skirt and baggy pink shirt, the neutral color scheme is highlighted nicely. In the next outfit, we have a white flowy top tucked into high waisted shorts. These shorts are a new style to hit California, and are very popular. They make your legs look miles long! Accessorize these outfits with the right jewelry and shoes, and you're good to go. Don't forget to purchase some great jeans, as you will wear them all throughout the year!

For the men, a great Californian outfit would consist of shorts in a basic color like black or tan along with a matching shirt. Having a shirt match the shorts is a great way to show style without overdoing the outfit. Finally, jazz up the outfit with a flat brim hat showcasing your favorite baseball team. Looking good!

Hope these inspired you to plan a great back to school outfit! What did you wear on your first day? Let me know in the comments!
